Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice explains how I, SquareSpace and Charlotte Duckworth Studio process personal information provided by you and outlines your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation.
1. WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Personal information means any information that can identify you, for example your name, email address and physical address.
2. WHAT IS ‘PROCESSING’ OF PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Personal information is processed when it is dealt with in any way, for example collected, recorded, stored, used, disclosed or deleted.
3. WHY IS THIS PRIVACY NOTICE NECESSARY?
The General Data Protection Regulation requires persons or organisations which process personal information to provide the person concerned with certain information.
4. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE PROCESS?
If you sign up for my newsletter or blog, this site will record your email address.
When subscribers click on a link in one of my emails or fill out a form, the site may record this information.
If you enter a giveaway, your email address is collected.
If you win a physical prize, you will be asked to give your name and physical address.
In addition, this website may use “cookies” to enhance visitor experience. Typically, cookies may be placed on visitors' hard drives for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. Visitors may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to send an alert when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the site may not function properly.
5. WHY DO WE PROCESS PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Personal information provided by you is processed mainly so that you can be contacted.
Newsletter and blog subscribers’ names and emails will be used only for sending the newsletters, the blog, or communications from me.
Giveaway entrants’ names and emails will be used only for sending emails about the giveaway, unless they also signed up for the newsletter or blog.
In addition, information on which email links are clicked on the most will help me choose links that interest readers in future emails.
I may use affiliate codes in some of the emails or on the site.
6. ON WHAT LEGAL BASIS IS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION PROCESSED?
Your personal information is processed only if you have consented to this, for example by asking to subscribe to a newsletter or blog or enter a giveaway.
All subscribers and entrants must be 18 or older or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
7. SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Subscriber information is never shared with a third party. All information is saved by Squarespace and only I and Charlotte Duckworth Studio can access it.
We use the CRM tool, Mailchimp, as a third party processor to collect, export, process and store Personal Data on our behalf. MailChimp is located in the U.S. Privacy Shield.
8. HOW LONG WILL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION BE KEPT?
Your personal information will be kept for as long as you are a subscriber or in accordance with legal requirements if longer. In the unlikely event of a data breach, subscribers will be notified within seven days.
9. YOUR RIGHTS AND YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
You have the right:
to request a copy of any personal information held about you;
to ask for it to be corrected or deleted;
to withdraw your consent to the processing at any time;
to ask for the processing to be restricted if you believe the information to be inaccurate or the processing unlawful;
to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
10. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY NOTICE
I may update this Privacy Notice at any time. Any such changes will be notified to subscribers by email.
